Our kids just love the ZOO in Jihlava! The ZOO is located in the valley of the river Jihlavka. Water beds, grassy hills and plains, beautiful rocky scenery - that is all located directly by the city center, only 10 minutes by foot. It is home to over 150 species of exotic animals, including endangered ones, and specialized in breeding predators from the feline family, monkeys and amphibians. A new specialization of theirs is the breeding of clawed monkeys. Also, if you haven't witnessed the amazing process of feeding the Malaysian bears, it is high time to visit the Jihlava ZOO!

The top things to seeSmallest in the world: tiger sub-species (sumatra), bear (Malaysian), otter (small), monkey sub-species
Biggest in the world: kangaroo (red), rodent (capybara), parrot (ara hyacinth)
Biggest collection of clawed monkeys in the republic.

Enlarged expositions, several smaller building and technically impeccable pavilions allow each visitor to enjoy the ZOO regardless of the weather conditions. The lemur exposition, consisting of individual mini islands separated from the surrounding land only by water, gives the ZOO an almost exotic atmosphere. Aesthetics, comfort and providing prefect services are the main ambitions of the ZOO staff. The unusual children's corner, a real life model of an African indigenous villages and a summer restaurant all complete the activity portfolio.

Thanks to it's hard work, the Jihlava ZOO is frequently ranked and no doubt belongs to the best ZOOs that the Czech Republic and Europe have to offer.
